This course aims to provide an insight into the skills and knowledge required to work in the Security Services Sector, the various jobs available and the different licences required. The course provides knowledge about the importance of communication and team building skills, and legislation in the industry. It also provides information about equality and diversity, security loss and prevention, and terrorism awareness, an excellent knowledge base for working in the sector. Read through this section, to see how you can achieve these skills and knowledge throughout the course, and achieve the listed learning outcomes.

The Logistics Gateway course it is suitable for anyone who wishes to re train for a job in this sector, a total career change, or to up skill. The Logistics Sector is crucial to the supply chain of any business. Goods have to be delivered from one place to another, safely and on time. Goods also have to be picked, packed, loaded and unloaded in the correct way following Health and Safety, legislation and manual handling regulations. There are various roles within the industry, you will gain awareness of the skills and knowledge required. You will also learn about Equality and Diversity and how to promote it. The course is not accredited, however if you complete short tests, you will obtain a certificate which you can then take to show a prospective employer. Numeracy, Literacy, and Digital skills will also be developed as you navigate through the course.

•After an induction this course can be completed on line, in your own time, once you have completed the course you can show a prospective employer your certificate to demonstrate you have the knowledge and skills to be able to work in this sector. On completion of this course you will understand how to prepare for stewarding activities, and how to identify and understand how to respond to hazards. Know how to assist with the movement of spectators and deal with crowd issues at spectator events, including entrance, exit points and movement around the venue. Understand how to engage with client groups in conflict situations, and how to follow procedures to resolve conflict situations. Understand how to deal with incidents at spectator events. Gain knowledge about working effectively with colleagues. Gain knowledge of how to improve your own work and the work of the organisation. Your digital, maths, and literacy skills will also improve as you navigate through the course.
